Chadron Middle School After School Program Presents: Lights On After School Event Night
When: October 22nd, 2015
Time: 4:00pm- 6:00pm
Who: Parents, Teachers, Students and all who have ever asked, “ What do students do at an afterschool program?”
This year’s event will feature Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Academics and Math.
Science: Surface Tension, FCS Kitchen
Technology: Chromebooks, Blogspot scavenger hunt. Room 120cb
Engineering- Tower Building- room 103
Art- Pumpkin painting in the art room
Academics- Library- students will working on homework. Great opportunity to see our tutors in action.

Chadron middle School Presents Textile Technology
Students in grades 5- 8 have the opportunity to sign up for a textile technology class presented by the 4-H Extention office. Student will be designing and printing fabric using online technology. All of the students work will be shown at fair. they will also have the opportunity to create a tote, pillow case or table runner from their fabric if they choose to do so. Classes are held on Monday the 5th, 12th and the 19th. Jennifer Cramer a staff member is assisiting in the program.

If your student is interested in participating in the textile tech sessions coming up on October 5th, 12th and 19th, please return the enrollment form with payment as soon as you can. There are only 16 slots available. Times offered are 3:45- 4:30 and 4:45- 5:30. Eight students will be enrolled in each time frame. Students may pick up enrollment forms at the office or from room 103.

CMS After School Program staff are available to help with student academic assistance. You may go directly to the library, or head to room 103 for a snack and then up to the library for help on your school work.
We will be offering a variety of activities to students including science, engineering, technology and math. We also have opportunities for students to craft, paint, sew and cook. Students always have the option of student choice. This helps to ensure that they have an activity to participate in that they enjoy. Chadron Middle School After School Program is Set To Begin
After School Programs will begin on Tuesday, August 25th immediately following the bell. Students who are enrolled at the middle school are automatically on the roster for after school program. Students will be offered a snack which they may accept or if they do not want what is offered, they may bring a snack of their own. This snack be included on the acceptable foods list which is included in the District's student/parent handbook. Middle school students are offered a variety of activity options. These will be listed on the monthly calendar which can always be found on this blog page, or on the Chadron Public schools website. The Snack schedule is also available both places. The three goals of the 21st CCLC grant program are: 1) improve student learning performance in one or more core academic areas 2) increase social benefits and positive behavioral changes. 3) Increase Family and Community engagement in supporting student learning. CMSASP offers expanded learning opportunities, NOT and extended school day.
An Informational booth will be set up during the Middle school open house on Tuesday, August 25th from 6pm-7pm.

CMS After School Program
If you are a student who is interested in Science, Technology, Robotics, Nature, Engineering, Athletics, Art and Field trips come to the CMS after school program. Program runs from 3:23 until 5:30 on every Monday through Thursday that School is in Session. Students do not need to register to attend. Snacks are available and are priced according to the student's hot lunch status. More information is available on the home page. All grade levels are invited to attend program. Each program staff member has received training and is highly qualified. It is going to be a great year filled with awesome activities and awesome students.
